Signature His & Her Wedding Cocktails: Drinks That Tell Your Story

A His & Her signature cocktail duo has become one of the most personal touches a couple can add to their wedding bar. But the best ones aren't picked off a template menu — they're designed around the couple's actual story. Here's how that process works, and what happens behind the bar to bring it to life on the day.

It's Not Just a Drink — It's a Story

A generic "his and hers" pairing is easy to default to: something classic and spirit-forward for him, something fruity and pink for her. But the cocktails that guests actually remember and ask about are the ones with a reason behind them — a nod to where the couple met, a shared favourite ingredient, a colour from the wedding palette, or a drink that echoes a memory only the two of them fully understand.

This is what turns a cocktail bar setup from a standard open bar into something guests genuinely talk about after the wedding.

How We Design Your Signature Cocktails

Rather than starting from a fixed list of drinks, the design process starts with the couple. To build a menu that actually reflects both of you, we ask for:

Your background story — how you met, a defining memory, or details that matter to your relationship

A moodboard and/or theme — colours, textures, and the overall feeling you want the wedding to have

Any personal flavour preferences — a favourite fruit, spirit, or drink you already love

From there, the cocktail suggestions come from matching your story and mood to flavour, colour, and presentation — so the "His" and "Her" drinks feel like they were actually built around the two of you, not pulled from a generic wedding cocktail list.

Execution: What Happens Behind the Bar

Once the menu is set, there's a practical side to actually running it smoothly on the wedding day:

Prep time: The bar team needs about 1 hour in advance to set up and prep before service begins, ensuring everything is ready before the first guest orders.

Premixing without alcohol: For certain cocktails, the non-alcoholic components are premixed ahead of time, while the alcohol is added separately during service. This means any excess alcohol that isn't used can be returned to the couple at the end of the night, rather than sitting pre-mixed and unusable.

Perishables are discarded at the end of the event: Any premixed perishable ingredients — fresh juices, purees, and similar components — are disposed of after the event regardless of how much is left over, since these can spoil and shouldn't be consumed once the event has ended. This is a standard food-safety practice, not a sign of waste for its own sake.

Understanding this upfront helps couples know exactly what they're getting: a menu that's personal and freshly made, with practical safeguards in place so nothing served is compromised.

Bringing Your Story to the Bar

A His & Her cocktail duo works best when it's treated as part of the wedding narrative, not an afterthought on the drinks list. Share your story, your moodboard, and what you both already love — and the cocktail menu becomes one more way your wedding day feels unmistakably yours.
